Texas Psychologist Punished in Death Penalty Cases commet

After reading Texas Psychologist Punished in Death Penalty Cases from United State of Texas, I agree with Ashley. Playing with people lives and all he got was a $5,000 fine and to agreed not to do it again. Even if they are mental, he should have been punish more rather than a fine and an agreement. An agreement isn't much since he could turn back on his words and continue with whatever he was doing. The people who did the ruling need to be replace because playing with people lives is no joke.

Inside Intelligence: The Security of State Data Is...

An article on Texas Tribune by Ross Ramsey called, “Inside Intelligence: The Security of State Data Is...,” stated that there was a data breach from the comptroller’s office. 3.5 million names were left unprotected for a year. The people that were affected are from the teacher and employee retirement systems and from the Texas Workforce Commission.

81% says that the state should bear whatever costs the people incur as a result of identity theft. I agree with those 81%. A year is a long time when it comes to identity theft. I understand that it was a mistake on their part, but comeon, it shouldn’t have taken them a year to notice it. The state should pay the expenses to whoever that had their id stolen, just like how if it were to happen to a company, then that company have to pay for the costs.

This should have a big impact on Susan Combs political future since identity theft is no joke, but knowing the people that are going to vote, this will just be another problem among other problem that they are going to forget when election time comes. The reason I say that is because it happens in the past with other politicians, maybe not similar issues, but had some issues nonetheless and they get reelected.

Do You REALLY Think God Hates Gay Marriage…? Comment

After reading Do You REALLY Think God Hates Gay Marriage…? from Power of the Sheeple!, I agree with P.B. I don’t get why so many people are arguing over this when it’s better to argue over something that actually impact people lives. If people of the same sex want to be together, then let them. It doesn’t hurt anybody at all. No one have the right to tell people who they can’t be with, it’s their lives. The people that are gay, they are not doing anything in public so I don’t see why it’s such a big deal.

Concealed Handguns Licensed

There was a hearing on the Senate Bill 354 recently by the Senate Criminal Justice Committee on whether they should allowed concealed handguns licensed (CHL) to be carried into college buildings. There are a lot of debates over this matter of issue.

Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, a state senator, for the CHL says, "It's about the nursing student that goes to class at weird hours at UTMB in Galveston and has to walk back to a parking lot in darkness, or the lady with a protective order against a former lover or spouse," while I agree with that, but they can go ask the campus police to escort them to their car. Even if they have to go ask the police every night or a few times a week then they should. If they don’t feel like doing that then they should change their schedule so they will feel safer.

Some say this bill might escalate violent crimes and I think it will since there have been a few incidents where a student decided to go crazy with the gun at some colleges. If the bill were to pass, then there might be a lot more incidents like the one I just mention just because people nowadays seem to be dumber and always be doing something stupid without thinking what would happen.

Bexar County Democratic Party Chair Dan Ramos: Defiant and Irresponsible

This blog by Randy Bear, he’s arguing that the chairman of the Democratic Party of Bexar County in San Antonio, Dan Ramos, needs to resign from his position because of his defiant and irresponsibility action. In an interview, his statement to the LGBT community is as follow, “I liken [Stonewall Democrats] to the Tea Party - the Tea Party and the f***ing Nazi Party - because they're 90 percent white, blue-eyed, and Anglo, and I don't give a s*** who knows that," because of that, several people have ask him, including state party chair Boyd Richie, to step down. Randy compares him to Gaddafi in Libya because he refuses to do so. In addition to that, Randy and several others noted that Ramos does not have the leadership to manage the organization and instead of leading it, he’s destroying it. “Those comments and his failure to retract them demonstrate his unsuitability to hold any position of leadership," says an editorial from Express-News that is agreeing with Randy and the others. In a letter to Bexar County Democrats, Richie stated that he wanted to “move the county organization forward and create a more meaningful dialogue.” In his conclusion, Randy says he has live in San Antonio for 23 years and he had never seen such behavior and defiance from an individual before, and that Ramos should do the right thing and resign so the organization can move forward. I agree with the author because being a chairman doesn’t mean you can act in whatever manner you want.

Gerard and Ayers: Building on oil ties with Canada would create needed jobs in U.S.

In this commentary, the president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, Jack N. Gerard, and the president of the Building and Construction Trades Department of the AFL-CIO, Mark Ayers, says that Canada is the largest supplier of imported oil for America and they will provide even more as they develop their oil sands resources. The Keystone XL Pipeline project, when completed, will bring Canadian oil to refineries in the Gulf Coast, which will replace millions of oil barrels imported from somewhere else. The Canadian Research Institution are expecting the oil sands development will create more than 342,000 jobs in America between 2011 and 2015 and generate an estimation of $34 billion to U.S. GDP in 2015.Out of 47 states, almost 1,000 companies are suppliers of materials, equipment, training or inspection services to support Canadian oil sands production operations according to the analysis by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers.

They fully support to develop all sources of energy, but it will take a while to come since the reality demands that oil and natural gas plays a critical role in our economy. Even if we’re to turn the Canadian resources at our border away, with the increasing global demand, they will find some other places to sell their oil. In addition, many skilled refinery and construction jobs will be sent somewhere else. More of Canada’s oil will be processed by the U.S. refineries if the project were to be complete. Jack and Mark urged the administrators to approve of this project for the American jobs and energy security.

Letter: Superintendent will now recommend cutting more than 1,000 positions

The Austin American Statesman reported that the Austin school administrators are planning to cut more than 771 campus based and 246 central office positions out of the current 12,000 workforce.

The administrators will get more precise detail in the meeting on Monday, February 14, on how the cutting will be made. Other districts across the state are planning to do something similar because of the public education cut by $10 billion in the next two years. Dallas school officials proposed cutting 4,000 positions and San Antonio voted to trim 125 positions. The school board voted to cut about 485 positions at the campus level and increased employee workloads for an estimated  saving of about $26.5 million.

I think the article is worth reading because of the cutting they are making to public education. So much people will lose their jobs and finding a job nowadays is hard enough already.
